We pulled off Interstate 70 at Rabbit Junction, where we climbed a mountain to see the remains of dinosaurs and fossilized plants. The route was strenuous in the hot sun.
We stopped on the Interstate in a rest area. Here you can see the highway is at two levels, one above the other.
At the rest area we were alongside the river.
Off the interstate, we went higher and higher and through Berthoud Pass on the way to Granby.
The road was steep and we came across the first snow at our level.
