Citrus groves

We crossed California from Exeter to Monterey, past citrus groves, oil wells, fruit and vegetable crops, plus a lot of winding and mountanous roads.

17 Mile Drive

You pay 8 dollars to visit 17 Mile Drive and you see a lot for your money. The peninsular beach surrounds expensive properties and golf courses.

Seabirds and sea lions laze on the nearby rocky islands. You hear them before you see them!

Fire Engine, 17 Mile Drive

It was a day to see fire engines, and another one was seen on the 17 Mile Drive. Rather a different colour for a fire engine. We drove on to Monterey where our hotel was situated on the beach.
