Pier 39 is famous for sea food and sea-lions. We went to see the sea-lions and they were magnificent, making loud honking noises as they vied for premier positions on the many pontoons available to them. Apart from seeing them on our 1999 visit, Penny had watched them on the Internet webcams and so we 'phoned our daughter who was looking after our house (about 1.30 am for her) and eventually she spied us waving at the webcam and blowing kisses to her!

From Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf, you get a good view of the City.

You can also see the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.
