Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon National Park is a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters. Erosion has carved colorful limestones into thousands of spires, fins, arches and mazes. Collectively called "hoodoos," these unique formations are arranged and tinted with colors too numerous and subtle to name.  This was our third visit to Bryce and we stayed overnight at the Bryce Canyon Lodge, inside the Park.  There are plenty of opportunities for photographs and at Bryce, as the light changes during the day, scenes vary from translucent cream to dark brown.

And here is another one!

This picture was taken just after dawn.  It was absolutely freezing!

This was our accommodation.

At Bryce it is easy to go down into the Canyon and walk among the hoodoos.  It is much more difficult to walk back uphill to the rim!
