Las Vegas - May 2008

Luxor Hotel, Las Vegas

We arrived at Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon, and stayed at the Luxor Hotel.  We had enjoyed our stayed here a couple of times on previous visits, and we had found very reasonable rates when booking via the Internet.  This time we had enough time to look again around some of the hotels on the Strip, although Penny and John planned a trip of reconnaissance to Valley of Fire State Park on the Thursday, prior to the Wedding taking place there on the Friday.  Suzi met up with the Bride and Groom and spent Thursday around Vegas.
When you visit Las Vegas, make sure you walk the Strip to the point of exhaustion and go inside all the Hotels, to enjoy the spectacle and sheer decadence of the City.  Food is very reasonably priced and visiting the hotels is free.  It is a great place to holiday, but from our point of view, a couple of days is sufficient.  We are not into the gambling side of Vegas, as we would rather waste our money on other things!

This visit we noticed several new hotels, such as Trump Hotel and Towers and the Wynn Hotel.  There were several building sites where developments were rising and topped by tower cranes.
