Park Avenue, Arches National Park

Turrett Arch

Arches and more Arches.....

.

Landscape Arch, at more than 300 feet long, is thought to be the longest natural arch in the world.

Cacti and the cryptobiotic crust, which is made up of living organisms that hold the soil together and retain moisture. This crust needs 5 to 10 years to form and can be destoyed by a single footprint. So keep on the trails!

Arches National Park has a terrain of spectacular cliffs and buttes, which often contain more arches.

Delicate Arch.

Above is Courthouse Towers.

Balanced Rock at Arches NP, with the La Sal Mountains in the background.

I stepped across this snake and leapt about three feet in the air. The rule is don't make any sudden movement, but try telling that to me when I am about to put my foot on it!!
I didn't wait to discover whether it was dangerous or not.

Flowers in the Desert.

We popped back to Canyonlands by Night and took this photo of hummingbirds on their porch.
